Pale Moon Portable is a great choice for safe browsing. It does not save data to your computer’s main drive. This helps keep your private data safe on the go. Here is how to set it up and make it more secure. How to Set It Up
Download the file: Get the official file from the Pale Moon Download Page.
Unpack the files: Run the program and extract the files to a folder. You can put this folder on a USB flash drive.
Start the browser: Open the folder and click palemoon-portable.exe. Do not click palemoon.exe. Make It More Secure
The makers of Pale Moon say the default settings are best for most people. But you can turn on these tools to be even safer:
Use a Master Password: This stops others from stealing your saved passwords. Go to Options, click Security, and check Use a master password.
Stop Auto-Fill: Turn off the setting that fills in your login names automatically. This stops bad scripts from stealing your information.
Check Site Permissions: Click the lock icon next to any website address. Here you can block sites from seeing your location or opening pop-up windows.
Add Security Extensions: Visit the Pale Moon Add-ons Directory to find ad-blockers like uBlock Legacy. These stop bad ads and tracking scripts. Use Advanced Settings
Type about:config in the address bar to change hidden settings. Be careful, as changing the wrong thing can break websites.
Stop Fingerprinting: Search for device.sensors and set it to false to stop tracking.
Block Location Tracking: Search for Geo settings and turn them off so sites cannot see where you are. If you want to learn more, let me know: Will you run this from a USB drive or a hard drive?
