To seamlessly set up and use Portable RQ Money, you do not need to go through any tedious installation processes. It is a completely free, lightweight, open-source personal finance program built on a fast SQLite database that runs directly from a USB flash drive or any local folder. 1. Initial Setup

Download the Software: Visit the official RQ Money website to grab the latest stable version.

Unzip the Files: Extract the downloaded ZIP archive directly onto your hard drive or a portable USB flash drive.

Launch the App: Open the extracted folder and double-click the executable application icon to run it instantly without installation. 2. Creating Your Database

Start a New File: Press Ctrl + N or select Create from the Database menu.

Name Your File: Enter a recognizable file name (e.g., “MyBudget”). The program will automatically append the .RQM file extension.

Choose a Directory: Set the storage path to your USB drive if you want to keep your data fully mobile.

Select Your Currency: Define the primary currency for your account tracking.

Secure with a Password: Press Ctrl + W to lock your financial data with strong database encryption. 3. Core Features & Daily Usage

Track Transactions: Easily input daily credits (income), debits (expenses), and transfers between accounts.

Manage Categories: Organize your money flow using customizable filters, tags, payees, and subcategories.

Schedule Payments: Use the built-in scheduler and payment calendar to track upcoming recurring bills.

Quick Calculations: Use the “cash counter” tool to quickly tally physical currency or use basic math syntax directly inside the amount field.

Run Custom Queries: Advanced users can press Ctrl + Q to open the SQLite Zone to execute manual SQL commands directly on the database. 4. Portability Tips

PC-to-PC Simplicity: To use your budget on a different computer, simply plug in your USB drive and launch the app.

Backup Your Data: Regularly copy your .RQM database file to a secure cloud backup to avoid losing data if you lose your physical USB drive.

If you would like to customize the app further, let me know: Do you manage multiple currencies? Do you need help importing old data from spreadsheets?
